When Chris first started his CDL training, he had no shortage of options. His school partnered with nearly a dozen trucking companies, each promising opportunity, stability, and success. “I used to see a Knight trailer parked next to my school every day,” Chris recalled. “So finally, I just said, ‘What’s Knight about?’ I applied, and literally the next day, a recruiter called me. Everything they said was exactly what I wanted to hear, and once I got here, it actually lived up to the expectations.”
From the moment Chris joined Knight, he noticed a difference. The enthusiasm and warmth of his recruiter set the tone for what would become a family-like experience across the board. At his home terminal in Katy, Texas, that close-knit environment quickly became one of the things he valued most.
"You walk in and people say, 'Hey Chris, good morning!' You don't get that in a lot of companies," he said. "I can call, text, or email my terminal manager anytime, and he'll answer. That kind of access and care - it's rare."

Even before earning his CDL, Chris knew he wanted to become a trainer. His own early experiences on the road shaped his desire to help others navigate their first steps in trucking with more confidence and support.
“I remember all the nerves, all the stress of trying to figure it out,” he said. “So I decided to be the kind of trainer who helps new drivers see that even on the hard days, there’s always something positive to take from it.”
Now, as a trainer and a recognized driver within the company, Chris continues to grow his career and his influence. From being recognized for his performance to connecting with other drivers on social media, he’s passionate about representing what Knight stands for: opportunity, support, and respect.
