Supporting Camp Patrick: How Knight-Swift Gives Back to the Community

Through the Knight-Swift Charitable Foundation, we’re proud to support organizations that make a meaningful impact in the communities we serve. One of those organizations is Camp Patrick, a life-changing summer camp for children living with Spina Bifida.
Creating Confidence and Independence for Kids at Camp Patrick
This year, our Charitable Foundation team attended Camp Patrick at Camp Shadow Pines in Heber, Arizona.
Yoma Villalobos, Corporate Giving Program Manager, and Melanie Bowers, VP of Human Resources and People Development, represented the team.
Their time at camp offered a firsthand look at how powerful this program is for the children and families it serves.
Camp Patrick offers a free, fully accessible summer camp designed for children with Spina Bifida.
The program designs every detail to support full participation, from activities to facilities, for every camper. Campers build confidence and experience independence in a supportive environment.
It’s a place where kids are encouraged to explore, connect, and simply enjoy being kids.
At Camp Patrick, limitations don’t define them.
The Story Behind Camp Patrick’s Life Changing Mission
Camp Patrick began with a mission rooted in heart and inspiration.
In 2018, the Patsy Reeve Foundation founded the camp. Tommy and Katie Reeve saw the need for a safe space for their son Patrick. They created a place where children could experience adventure and community.
The camp started with 55 campers and today, it serves over 200 children each year. The program delivers a week of connection, confidence, and joy.
One of the most unique aspects of Camp Patrick is that it is entirely volunteer-run. Many of the volunteers returning year after year. In addition, the camp brings in a full medical team – including physicians, nurses, and therapists – to ensure every camper’s needs are supported 24/7.

Knight-Swift has proudly partnered with Camp Patrick since 2022, supporting their mission through annual contributions from the Knight-Swift Golf Classic.
This year, the Knight-Swift Charitable Foundation donated $20,000, helping ensure the camp continues to grow and reach more families.
Tommy and Katie Reeve expressed their gratitude for Knight-Swift’s support, sharing how meaningful it is to have a local partner that believes in their mission and that support helps make Camp Patrick possible.
