Hauling Holiday Spirit: Knight-Swift Selected to Transport the 2025 U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree
This holiday season, Knight-Swift Transportation is honored to carry one of the most meaningful loads of the year, the 2025 U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree. Known as “The People’s Tree,” this national tradition brings communities together across the country, and this year, Knight-Swift is proud to play a central role in delivering that spirit from Nevada to Washington D.C.
A National Tradition Rooted in Community
Each year, a different national forest is chosen to provide the U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree for the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol Building. In 2025, that honor belongs to Nevada’s Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, the largest national forest in the lower 48 states. The 2025 tree, a majestic 53-foot red fir affectionately named “Silver Belle,” represents Nevada’s “Spirit of the Silver State,” celebrating the state’s rugged beauty and proud heritage.
As Silver Belle begins her journey across the country, she’ll make stops in towns and cities along the way, allowing communities to celebrate, sign banners, and take part in this treasured American tradition.

Adam Miller, CEO Knight-Swift Transportation

The Rig and the Route
To carry Silver Belle across the country, Knight-Swift is partnering with Kenworth Truck Company, continuing Kenworth’s 12-year tradition of hauling the Capitol Christmas Tree. This year’s specially wrapped Kenworth T680 features a custom design honoring Nevada’s unique landscape and heritage.
The truck is equipped with Kenworth’s Truck Tech+ connected vehicle technology, allowing the public to track the tree’s journey in real time at Kenworth’s Tree Tracker.
This journey began in early November from the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, with Silver Belle making numerous “whistle-stop” community events across the U.S. before arriving in Washington, D.C., where the tree will be displayed and lit on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol.
A Team Effort from Start to Finish
Transporting a national symbol of this size and significance requires meticulous coordination. The effort includes:
- Safely harvesting and preparing the 53-foot red fir for transport.
- Engineering a custom trailer cradle to ensure the tree remains stable and protected during the long haul.
- Coordinating the route and event schedule across multiple states.
- Engaging communities to celebrate the journey.
Behind the wheel, one of Knight-Swift’s professional drivers represents the company’s culture of safety, pride, and professionalism. From the driver and shop team to the planners and communicators supporting the tour, this moment reflects the dedication of the entire Knight-Swift family.

Delivering More Than Freight
For Knight-Swift, this haul is about more than transportation; it’s about connection. It’s a reminder of what we do every day: linking communities, supporting people, and delivering what matters most.
“This is a true honor for everyone at Knight-Swift. The Capitol Christmas Tree represents unity, tradition, and the spirit of America, and we’re proud to help bring that spirit to life.”
As Silver Belle makes her way to the nation’s capital, we invite everyone to follow along at Kenworth.com/tree-tracker and celebrate the journey of “The People’s Tree.”
